Flyers went home today regarding a school fundraiser.
T-shirt orders and money are due this Friday, August 28th. We have to turn them in that day.
LA: On Tuesday we continued learning about Subjects and Predicates using the School House rock video. Students then worked in pairs to find the complete subjects and complete predicates. The correct answers were reviewed together in class.
Today they answered questions about the subject or predicate using a matching game.
Using an interactive power point, we learned about Character traits and how they are different from physical traits. After doing an example together, students paired off and read different passages about a person. They then had to determine 3 character traits about that person and show their evidence in the text.
Math: On Tuesday students created their own 100's number line to help with rounding to the nearest hundreds. As a class we practiced together in rounding various numbers. They then had to work independently on a worksheet to round.
Spelling: Students learned another method to practice spelling words. They make a crossword out of two words. This is their homework for tonight.
Social Studies: Tuesday we physically practiced directions: north, east, south, west. They also learned an acronym: Never (north) Eat (east) Soggy (south) Waffles (west). We also reviewed key mapping vocabulary words using a video and today we added these to our foldable notes.
